2024-25 Programs of Choice Applications Open

2024-25 Programs of Choice Applications Open
Flagler Schools

The Programs of Choice offered at each of our high schools are School Choice options that allow students to enroll in a specific set of courses with a designated focus.

Students accepted into these programs have the opportunity to explore options outside of their attendance area zone. Transfers are granted through completion of the high school. If a program of choice student leaves the program, they must return to their home zoned school. IEP requirements cannot be guaranteed for students accepting a transfer through a Program of Choice. If a student attends a program of choice that is not at their home zoned school, they are responsible for their own transportation.

Program of choice students who are attending outside of their zoned high school are subject to the School Choice Rescind Process based on grades, attendance, and discipline.

The Program of Choice Application is open through February 29, 2024.

If you are currently an Flagler Palm Coast High School or a Matanzas High School student and wish to remain in a program, please click INTENT TO REMAIN IN PROGRAM OF CHOICE FOR CURRENT STUDENTS.

Flagler Schools' vision of providing personalized learning to students while supporting the culture of innovation that engages and motivates students to seek their maximum potential through Programs of Choice is embraced by both Flagler Palm Coast High School and Matanzas High School. By providing opportunities for every student to explore, expand, and succeed in high-interest fields that are relevant to them, we can provide an optimal learning environment for each of our students. Both of our high school Programs of Choice offer students the ability to discover paths to help lead them from the classroom to the career of their choice.

Students accepted into these programs have the opportunity to explore options outside of their attendance area zone.  FPC and MHS have based their Programs of Choice on the targeted industries in Flagler County, as identified by the Flagler County Department of Economic Opportunity, as well as desired skills identified by the Federal Department of Labor and local organizations such as Career Source.
