21st Annual Tommy Tant Memorial Surf Classic

21st Annual Tommy Tant Memorial Surf Classic
Flagler Schools

It's that time of year again—time to find out who is the best surfer at the 21st Annual Tommy Tant Memorial Surf Classic!

Join us for a weekend of fun at the Flagler Beach Pier from October 29–30. Hundreds of surfers will compete in professional, open, and amateur divisions, attracting thousands of spectators from across the East Coast. All proceeds benefit the Tommy Tant Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Flagler County Food Bank, and the National Marfan Foundation.

This annual event celebrates the life of Flagler Beach surfer Tommy Tant, who passed away in 1998 from an aortic aneurysm. The contest was originally organized by Tommy's former high school teachers and students in a Flagler-Palm Coast High School marketing class. Proceeds from the first contest were used to provide scholarships to local students, beginning the Tommy Tant Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Visit the Tommy Tant Memorial Surf Classic website for more information, and to register for the contest. This is an opportunity for Flagler Schools students to earn service hours for graduation—all while having fun in the sun!
